Sirius FM Adapter to Monsoon Radio 2003 JEtta

I am currently in the process of adding a sirius satellite radio to my stock 2003 VW Jetta with the Monsoon stereo.

I purchased the FM Direct Adapter for the Starmate 4 radio and wanted to know if anyone has had any experience in removing the Head unit from the dash, and connecting the adapter to the antena cable to the back of the unit. I have looked for literature on this matter on the web and have found nothing.

Does anyone have diagrams or experience in how to do this?

    thanks

Well we are CarPC people, so most of us use a USB circuit and connect to our computers that way, so most people around here including myself will be unable to help you. I suggest a forum either specific to your vehicle, or specific to the adaptor you bought.

My guess is since it is "FM Direct" that it emulates a radio station and you just tune in to the frequency on your HU to get that sound to come out. So I would assume it has a antenna in port and an antenna out port. Basically one side with a hole to accept the stock antenna, and then a cable out the other end to plug into the HU. So just select what frequency you want that module to tune to (usually a slider switch with wireless ones, so probably similar on the direct versions) and then plug it in. Done.

You will need stereo removal tools. Sold on many sites from $5. Then insert 4 of them into your stereo and pull it out. Simple as that...
I would recommend throwing away modulator and get direct input adapter. They go from $40 on ebay. You won't regret
