    Gps w/o computer

Ok, so i want to have gps in my car but already have a headunit. I want the gps to be in-dash so i planned on buying a 7" lilliput non-motorized monitor and sticking it in my dash. The one problem is that my parents won't let me have a full pc in the car (they think it's dangerous 4 a 16 year old or something???.) I was wondering if i buy the monitor...there is a way to get something that will just give me gps. Is there any gps that just needs a touch screen...not too expensive??? Thanx

get a Tomtom or a Garmin and you're all set.

Yeah, pretty much you have to go with a 'standalone' unit, like the TomTom or Garmin's, unless you want to spend $1,500-$2,000 on a Pioneer AVIC or something like that.

None of the cheaper GPS units have an 'output' to connect the way you're saying.

You can get a Pioneer D3 when they come out in the Spring(?). They're supposed to go for about $1000 and have dvd, nav, etc.

I think you can get a D2 now for less on ebay too and it doesn't do dvd playback without an external player. Maybe $800?

If you don't want to go for that though just get the smaller Garmin/Tom Tom units.
