Hello all I had a problem with my lilliput indash touchscreen
Heres what happened
My first e-mail
Hello I brought the above through ebay from your company
The product has been excellent
Up until this problem developed
The motorized mechanism has stopped working
When i start the car
The screen extends out from the unit
But the screen does not rotate to its 90 degrees angel
As there is something wrong with the mechanism inside
But I can hear the motors inside working
I am a senior member of mediacar.com and mp3car.com i know
I have not posted this negative experience on the forum yet as i believe your product to be excellent apart from this issue I have had
I would appreciate it if you suggested a method of getting the unit repaired or replaced
here are my details
Then in October
i have tried to contact you
i need your post code so i can send the faulty product
then he replied
By the way : I am so sorry for the late reply because i went to hospital for 4 days . so that why i can't go to work and no one will reply my email . please forgive me about this ...
According to fedex he got the screen back on the 8th of November
I have e-mailed him 3 times to ask the status of the screen but he has ignored me
So I thought I would come on here and send him this link
But it looks like im not the first
Anyways its up to him if he ignores me
but Mr sin if you want to play it that way I will shut you down
If you don’t reply I am going to show you the real power of the net
Ok its up to
i want what i paid for

Lilliput was going to charge me to ship my screen to them in Hong Kong, to fix it, and to ship it back to me. Every email I had in contact with them was in terrible broken English. I was a little iffy on sending it to them especially with the charges it would cost to fix it and the inability to give me a return estimate.
Overall, the lesson that should be learned here is to go by better judgment as to whether sending an expensive piece of equipment to someone can't communicate with you is a good or bad idea.

Actually, I think the more important lesson is to do business with people that speak the same language as you, and that buying from the lowest-price vendor isn't always the best course of action.
This is why I will not purchase my screen from an overseas Ebay reseller.

There are at least a few threads that complain of Lilliput's poor customer service performance. Some of them have many many posts.

I bought a usb tv tunner from hong kong(ebay) and like a month later it died. Its been more then a year with no help from them. I tried to get an RMA to send back and they gave me the run around on checking the unit to see if it worked. I've been in the warrenty/electronics/computers/security/car audio/tech support business for 10 years! its broken i want a return! damn china!! Ive given up $50 bucks gone and not worth fighting for. I will just end up buying another one from someone else.
Um, I guess this is where you put something witty.WITTY

Majority of our electronics are made in china. Not all are bad, its just companies who cut major corners and use cheap components are the ones that have problems. Thearten them with a lawsuit, see if they will act quickly then. haha
