    Question Starting car with fingerprint?

Just wondering, has anyone here thought about the possibility of using a fingerprint reader and your carpc to start your car? Ive been toying with the idea and am looking for some ideas on how to accomplish this...

In order to accomplish this via a PC, you'd need the PC to be on all the time.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I think it could be possible if i used a serially controlled relay board to hook to my ignition, maybe the kind that people are using for their HVAC controls, and a fingerprint reader, most of the fingerprint readers that ive seen are just used for user id and password authentication... Now if there was a way to set up some kind of user id and password configeration to activate the relay board i think i could be in business... I dont know im not an expert at that kind of stuff but it would be neat to try...

you'd need a stand-alone reader, such that it would store the reference points of a finger print on the unit itself, and then maybe output to a pic or something to control a relay or relay(s) and control timing etc.

very expensive and i wouldn't trust or want to wait til a PC booted to start my car up!

however i have seen somewhere on the net of a company who has something like this for sale.

    google is your friend!

For some, it may be easier to pull your fingerprint off of something, do the super-glue trick, add some powder and make a copy of your fingerprint (like they just did on mythbusters) and hack your security system that way - Rather than hack a security code.
    It's been a while...

proper biometric systems, map the blood vessels underneath the skin and use these as the reference points, try cloning that!
