    Will Config work?

Ok well before winter my Hadrdrive went blah. This was in a complete unit that I bought through the MP3 store. Instead of replacing the HDD I just want to build my own system and give it a try so I am just curious if these components will be an ideal choice or should I do some more research on building computers. for the main components I am looking at

    The board Im looking at
    http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/...es=1&model=326

    The Processor Im looking at
    http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...px?sspec=sl9zl

    The memory
    http://gskill.de/product_sp2603.html

    and the hard drive
    http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.js...D&locale=en-US

I am just looking to see if this will work together. Thanks for any input

You are going to throw away entire computer because of the harddrive?! You must be hella loaded...

And I don't see what chipsets that motherboard supports. Just because it is LGA775, doesn't mean it will support the core 2.

Well I can see where it says it supports core 2.

Anyway IMHO that's far too much pc for a car but hey your obviously loaded so why not.

Welll...er...a little overkill but can;t say people ahven;t done it. The only thing that worries me is the processor thermal spec @60C. I know some people are runnign desktop processors, but 60C is ~140F and it's easy for a car to reach close to 150F in a car in the summertime in Chicago. Granted your car would cool to less than that rather quickly with AC.

No Im not going to throw it away I just want something a lil more flexiable then the M10000. A buddy of mine is buying the old pc off me.

The chipset is Intel 975X / Intel ICH7R Express
for powersupply I was thinking of using the 250 opus. I was planing on running caseless with the P.C. in one of the rear quarters, under the dash, or the factory glove box. ohwell. I still have some time to think about it, We are working Saturday 15hr and most Sundays 5hr overtime. so Im going to wait untill we slow a bit and see what the wife hasent spent yet.
Hey durwood I didnt even think about the heat knowing how hot it was last year, mabye because the temp hasent spiked up to bad yet. Well thanks for the replys!
