sound issues

when I'm surfing and playing music at the same time the music distorts and cuts out especially when using a search engine or downloading.Does anyone know how to fix

sounds like you are getting interference between your soundcard and modem/Ethernet.

If I take a stab at it, i'm betting your using onboard sound?

You could try a dedicated soundcard if you are.
You can also try getting a external NetworkConnection/Soundcard

Post more info about the hardware you are using

Your best bet is to just buy a actual dedicated soundcard then.
I would try and borrow a friends soundcard first tho before actually purchasing to be sure it fixes your issue.

It is possible to fully isolate the PC with a USB sound card, or by using digital-out.

It sounds like the problem is that your soundcard is sharing resources or an IRQ. As someone else mentioned, you will get better help if post what hardware you are using. Also, there is a way to put your computer specs in your profile.
