I think I killed my keyless entry, 2005 civic

Its just a strange set of problems. when the car is off, the power locks dont work, so they're not getting power, and when the car is off and the headlights are on, the dash isnt illuminated, so it doesn't get power either.

I really hope this is something as simple as a blown fuse.

Why would all of these systems be connected tho? and why do some work when the car is on?

Why are the: domelight, radio, power locks, keyless entry, and dash gages connected to the same power line?

Sorry, this is all just so stressful

Well they all need power when the car is off. So all of those are run through a fuse, and then to the battery. If they werent then when you cut the live wires like a maniac everything in your car would blow. The fuse protected everything else from destroying itself. It is a fuse somewhere. My guess is in the engine.

Ok I looked in my book, and I think you blew fuse #19 under the hood.

The keyless entry and door lock system and the dome lights both go through fuse #19 and into the "Multiplex Control Unit" which I have no idea what or where that is but if you need to know I am sure I can find it as I have the dealer program. I am sure if I looked at the other schematics, I would find they go through the same point.

I was about to start screaming, IT'S A FUSE MAN, DEFINATLEY WITH OUT A DOUBT A FUSE!!!, but I think you even got which one

OK, im going to go check all the fuses now, I did a quick examine of fuse #19 and it's one of those big bulky ones. It looks like it's fine, but I'm getting the DM to check for continuity.

TADA, yes turbocad6, it was a fuse. It was a fuse that I never would have guessed, a 10 amp fuse, #9, labeled in my book as "back up" Once I switched it out, everything started working again, so all is good. Thanks for all of your help everyone, especially 2k1Toaster! Thanks for finding all the diagrams for me!
