Project --mp3 (um no name yet) under more progress. ;)

Well, i finally got my computer that i wish to use in my final project of my mp3car. So i needed a lil case for it. I was going to put it in the console, but there really wasnt enough room for the sound card and video card later i am gonna add. I wanted to stick with my sound blaster live 5.1 .. since i am using a tape adaptor for now.

OK here is some pictures of my box. Its still in progress. but i just had to show it off The final case will be covered in a black vinyl or leather.. to match the rest of my jeep grand cherokee limited, and i am gonna put a removable hard drive rack.... and some nice cold cathode lighting it sets nice on the floor on the hump in the middle in the back seat.

ok enough of that i will show completed pics later

ok here it is.. my basic box

ok and this picture is a shot down..... the hard drive, temporary cdrom and powersupply are down there,, and a nice piece of plexi to get ready to put my mb on top

and here is my mini atx board... 1.2ghz duron.
still gotta hook it all up and figure how i wanna access the ports etc.

and here is my nice lil lid with place window.. nicely mitered in there to give a decent look

and here we go with the lid on... quality sucked on this pic.

now just finishing touches... running my leds out and i got a couple power and reset switches to mount.

oh and i gotta put some cooling in there.. not sure what way i wanna exhaust and intake.. eventually it will have a sproggy for the bottom, for i just got my samples

ok just had to share that

Sweet! Nice and clean. If a box could have the "factory made" look. You got it. A little big, but there is plenty of room in that grand cherokee. Looks like you are gonna make a table out of it?? Sweet Idea if so! I was thinking of doing that. Throw some cup holder spots in it! Nice little playing card table.

    yeah, its rough dimensions are around 12" x 12" x 12"
but couldnt be a whole lot smaller

i could of used a smaller power supply,,, i had to turn it on its side.. and also being that i had to add room for my sound card and video card that raised the height.

but yes poboy, i was going for a basic lil insert, table concept.. ideas are endless and i also liked the show of the computer,,, i dont live in a really high crime rate, and if so.. i got insurance

also, this would be very easy to pull out at a lan party and start gaming with the add on of a good geforce video card

thanks for your compliments and comments

oh i ran out to my jeep and took a pics of what it looks like in the area i discussed.. i like
gotta EXCUSE THE mess i been living out of it lately..
and i am waiting on Outragis to come detail it lol.

Its a little ironic using it as a card table, since the purpose of the computer is for entertainment.

Although cup holders would be great on the top of it.

Looks good! Im thinking of making a wooden case for my trunk. Something nice and simple, like yours.

What about ventilation? I don't see any case fans, or even air holes in that thing. Also I would cover the wood with something, maybe carpet that would match your interior. And tinting the top window would look cool.

yep! that was at the end of my first post.. both answers.. but who reads we wanna see pictures i know i do
i will be putting some intakes and exhausts fans on the upper and lower section.

as for covering the wood, i am gonna go with matching black vinyl or cheap fake leather(wait thats vinyl )

still a work in process, but i was excited.... had to share.
my removable hard drive tray should be here next week and hope that works well in it.. along with my switches and leds.

tinting it does sound like neat idea, i might have to think bout that.. depends on how the cold cathode lighting i am putting in shines

or i could just tear this out of one of my main pcs and throw it in there
