internet in car and how do you use it?

Ok, one of the BIG things i want when i put my system in the car is internet. This is easy using sprints mobile broadband service and a usb device, however apart form the obvious web surfing , how do you guys use it? any cool ideas? like sysncing your music folder at home with the one in the car? what about real time traffic nav data? is that available on streetwise? gps data back to your home server for vehicle tracking useing a system like gps gate?

what about a good old video phoen using voip and a camera in the car?

I am hungry for ideas, anyone , anyone

It's the same internet, just in the car. Use your imagination.

The GPS real time traffic is definitely possible depending on the program you use for GPS, and I'm sure there is a way to log your GPS data and put it on the net for some kind of vehicle tracking. The Voip phone/camera would work same way it would at home.

Having a regular wireless card in the car is helpful sometimes too especially for data transfer. You can pull into your driveway, connect to your home wireless network, and then pull files downloaded off of your desktop to your car.

Uhm...you could stream pandora (Music genome project) in the car. www.pandora.com it's a pretty neat little website. (if you really wanted you could capture the requests and parse them to find a link to the actual music file and download the mp3s to the car as you're streaming them...i'm sure this is frowned upon though)

When (if) I ever get internet access in my carPC, I'm going to watch TV and my home webcams on Orb. Actually, Orb lets you access any audio or video files that you have on your home PC. So you don't really need to store anything locally.

I'm working on a TouchScreen version of Orb for RoadRunner.
