Hi guys,
This is a fantastic forum, after going thru the details here Carputer is a brilliant idea. I want it in my Ford Probe.
Anyway my question here is, Is it possible to connect any touchscreen to carputer and use the touch screen feature.
I am planning to get this unit

Will i be able to access touch screen feature if i connect my carputer to this unit. I am planning to use my broken laptop as carputer using S-Video / RGB signal
any help apperciated
any other possible way with this unit then???
Use composite video input and forget about touchscreen control.
Can you hack hardware?
You could open the unit up, figure out the touchscreen signals, pass them to a serial or USB port, and then code drivers to have them work for a PC.
Good luck with that.![]()
Even after all that work, it still going to be a fuzzy picture.
The touchscreen shouldnt actually be too hard. If you cant make your own hardware, then you can buy a generic 4wire or 5wire resistive USB controller, splice the touchscreen ribbon and send it to the computer. I will most likely work, but at $50 just for the controller, to end up with a "maybe" and a definate fuzzy image, it is not worth it.

Not specific enough. You mean a car PC with built in bluetooth? That is trivial. Or do you mean an in dash stereo system with bluetooth?
If the latter, try a forum that deals mainly in car audio. If the former, there are several beginner kits for sale in the mp3car.com store. All can have bluetooth installed easily.
