    Power to MOBO

    I just got my VIA EPIA today and put it in my case, hooked up the power supply, and then relized I dident have a pover button. How do I get the mobo to power up? I tried using a jumper on the power switch pins and that dosent work. Need some help!

    If the numbers are the pins right above the PCI sloton the edge of the board, you simply touch Pins 9 and 10 with a screwdriver, or hook them up to a switch. And you got power.

    I have tried that but got nothing. I even took the power button out of my desktop and tried that and still got nothing. Is there somthing else that I am missing?

    Just a regulat PC power supply have tried 2 diffrent ones. One that is im ny desktop and the one that i got for my carputer. Do you think this is a ps problem? If so is there any special for the Epia?

    Dosent sound like a PSU problem. In my opinion, there are two different things that could be going wrong.

    1) You mobo isnt grounded correctly. So when you connect the pins and try to send a ground signal to pin14 of the atx connector, you get nothing

    or...
    2) You arnt connecting the correct pins.

    The Via itx board does not need a speacial power supply. If it is indeed a grounding problem, put the board on the grounding plate of another case and see if it starts up then. ALso check and be SURE that you are touching the correct pins. If you cant tell from my little drawing above, check the users manual, it will show you.

    Tanks for all your help. It was the psu. I hooked ou the other one again an it works fine so now I am looking for new psu. Thanks again!
