Wow. Sorry to start a new thread...just thought i'd kick up a discussion. It's been so cold here lately, with the windchill its been below -40 these last 3 days. My computer takes probably 20 minutes of driving at least until it warms up enough to spin the hard drive. Even then it doesn't always start up.
I kinda like the idea of it slow-warming itself to fend off the chances of condensation. But wow. What a PITA! I'm deff going to look into maybe getting a CF daughterboard for the OS at least and maybe a few songs to tie me over until the HDD spins. I have an 8GB CF-I card for my camera that supposedly writes at 125x. Although i'm not a fan of this way of describing the speed (125 times what?) Will it be a noticeable difference (ie. slower) than the HDD?
