Sleep and screen issues

I have 2 questions...not really sure where to post em..hopefully I'll get an answer here..

- I have my lilliput 8" widescreen hooked up to the secondary out of my carnetix. The secondary out is switched on and off with the car. My question is how can I set it up that I don't have to manually turn the screen on everytime i start the car? Right now I start the car, but I have to physically turn the screen on......Should I change the jumper for the seconday out to just stay on and the screen will go into standby?

- When coming out of sleep my macmini will wake up (I can tell by the indicator light on the front) but when I turn the screen on it'll say "no pc signal). I have to turn the computer on and off to get a picture. What can I do to solve this? Does the screen have to be turned on before the computer wakes up?

I finally installed the computer today, and these were the 2 major issues I came across. Aside from some software tweaking, everything else seems to working fine.

As far as auto powering on the screen, check this thread:

It's not for your specific model but it should get you going in the right direction.

And on the wakeup issue, the screen doesn't need to be on before wake up. It almost doesn't sound like your computer is actually in sleep mode.

What I ended up doing was changing the jumper on the carnetix to make the secondary power go on and off with the primary power, rather then with the ignition. So instead of the screen turning off when I go into sleep (and turn the car off), the screen will just stay in a standby state while the mac is sleeping. If I turn off the mac (the primary power) then the screen (secondary power) is also turned off.

Obviously the downside is that it's an added draw on the battery to have another thing running while the car is off. But it did solve the screen issue.

However, I still get a 'no signal' message while coming out of standby. So I've just been shutting it down until I find a solution. The only reason I think it is actually going into standby is because the mac's indicator LED slowly blinks....and goes solid when it wakes up...just without any video....
