    Just Hello!

    Well, I've just discovered this forum about a week ago, and while I've already replied to a couple posts, I thought I'ld just say "hello" all.

    I can't believe how much great info is here and it seems like everybody is pretty helpful and civil. (A trait lacking in so many other forums.)

    Seeing what some of you have accomplished really has me geared up to do a car MP3 player. Now I just have to decide how to approach it.

    I really like good ole DOS with MPXPLAY, just for its simplicity. But at the same time, I have some money invested in some nice WinAmp plugins, which would require Win9x. And, I'ld like to play with Linux a bit. Decisions, decisions!

    Anyway, I'll just keep reading up, and when I finally get something going, I'll post results/pictures.

    Again, thanks to all for the great info. I'm sure I'll be lurking in here for awhile.

    You have a ton of decisions to make, i change my mind daily, just decided to scrap all the parts I just bought and convert my webserver into my mp3 server...lots of info here and everyone pretty friendly, just do a search before you do anything!!!

    welcome!!!!

    ive changed my mind on my project about 6 times... hopefully it is getting better all the time!! ive been working on this too long not to have something that works yet.

    anyway, best idea is to plan out exactly what you are trying to build. that way you can have a nice goal to aim for, or you can know what you are going to replace, if you change your mind on a feature. planning is your best friend when you are building something custom like this..

    biggest rule (in my mind) is to have fun. why the hell do you want to get stressed out because of a hobby!!!

    my (new) girlfriend thinks it rocks ! she wants her own now, so I´m deciding between building myself a new one with all the goodies (have some 5" an 7" displays with RGBHV-inputs laying around) like dvd divx (and i don´t know about good gps software for europe but might want to add that too)

    When we were talking about all the posibilities with computers she asked me if it was possible to have the same music playing in each room off the house, and that it could be controlled from each room.. and.. if that could be done.. would it be possible to surf the web from each room.. and after that.. would it be possible to have a flat screen in the living without a ´screen´ (she wants to have a beamer!!!)
    oh boy.. she´s thinking off more posibilities than I have ever dreamed off and encourages me to finish those projects....
    Boy I´m glad she really likes real technologies.... this way I don´t have to argue like 100 times about getting new hardware.. She askes like.. "What it´s for" and "What does it do" and then.. Kewl.. !!! get some off that..
    yeah.. she´s really the right one for me.. hahahahhaha

    I never thought off meeting a nice, goodlooking, girl WITH brains, and then when you least expect it, you get to meet somebody... same like I did , and have been addicted to eachother ever since

    I'll second that. When you least expect it...Though those girls are few and far between, and of course when it ends it's all the worse...

    Off course, that´s true, when it ends.......

    But not thinking off that right now.
    We both think and feel that it keeps getting better each day.. we´ve been to paris last weekend, and that was absolutely fabulous...

    We´re making plans for the future and it keeps getting better...
    I will not bother you with "why" and "because" and all those things.. I think each one has to find that out for it´s own....
