Thats a pretty sweet carputer. I'd say it's a pretty good price since it'll save you from buying more things and it makes life alot easier. Good luck with the install!
First off i got to say that this is an awesome forum. I've been reading on here for about 2 days now, and there is so much i got to learn.
So far i've bought a Xenarc 700TSV screen, and a computer that came out of a police car. This computer is already setup for 12V in, so hopefully it'll make the install a bit easyer. I bought it shipped for $187 (this price is for PC)... Hopefully it's a good deal for what it is. Here is a link to all the specs. What do you guys think, will it do?

1997 Grand Prix GTP - Pioneer Premier HU - Alpine 4ch for mids/highs - McIntosh separates in the rear (soon to be in front as well) - Custom Passive Xovers - Pioneer Class A 300wrms amp - 2.5 farad cap - The original RF "The Punch" Pro Series 12"
Looks pretty good to me. I'm using a Motorola MW800 that was also designed for police cars, although it's a bit older (Mobile P4-M, USB 1.1). There were a few issues but it works well for me. This Kontron system seems fairly up to date and should work well.
Do you mind saying where you ordered it from - novatronicsistems? Usually you can't this type of equipment for that cheap a price.

I work for the county where I live and I know that sometimes they sell stuff at auctions at pretty dirt low prices, including stuff that may have been for the police.
You should look at this site: www.publicsurplus.com and search for agencies in your area and what they have up for sale.
I think it's kinda funny that you bought a police pc for $187.![]()
actualy i bought it on ebay, i don't know if the guy has any more but im sure if there are none for sale right now look in the completed listings and you'll find the guy hows been selling them, he told me he had a few units so he might have more. All i had to do to get it going was laptop hard drive ($50 on ebay) If evething will go as planned i should have in my car up and running tomorow. Check "Show off your project" section in a few days and ill upload some pics of the final product
Cool, SCMODS!
That site is pretty sweet, ill have to get some stuff from there.
Yeah, I've noticed some counties and areas have some pretty cool stuff. In my county, all they seem to have is furniture...![]()
