How's this for a first build?

I'm going to use the Jetway JNC62K + AthlonX2 4850e 2.5ghz combo, with a 2gb stick of ram, and an OCZ 32gb SSD. I don't need audiophile quality sound so the onboard from the Jetway will be fine. The video will already be great.

The rest would be a Lilliput 619GL, Opus 120w (or 150w if I need more power, maybe for a dvd-rom drive and some USB addons) and a MCS case for the extra clearance on the Jetway's heatsinks.

Sound good, or bad? It's not the lightest build ever, but I'm used to very fast systems and waiting for things to load is painful for me.

1 - Others have had major issues w/ Jetway brand boards. I suggest researching them before you commit to that board.
2 - The Opus PSUs will not fit in that case. I suggest an M2ATX.

I saw a good review of that board on this very forum.

Are you willing to risk the good to bad ratio?

Very good choice as far as low power but powerful system. I have the same board/processor that will be going in my car soon. I'm using the M2-ATX, and have had problems in the past with a jetway mobo that would not POST until the reset button was hit after power-on. I'm hoping this board does not have the same issue.

I think the specs and chipset of that board are very good. If there were another board with that same formfactor and feature set, I'd jump on it myself.

However, the Jetway brand itself has been hit or miss in my opinion, which is based on the reviews from users on these forums. It's not just one model of board, but across the entire Jetway product line.

I'm not saying don't go with that board. I'm only suggesting that you weigh the opinions of others who have had negative experiences with Jetway products before you commit.

I wish I could get the same specs from an Asus board, but I'm willing to take the risk.
I'll make sure to buy it based on which vendor who has the best RMA policy.

Yeah, I'll agree with DP on this one. Only reason I'm using this board + CPU combo is I somehow ended up with an extra after a few system builds for a client. It would suck to drop the money on this stuff outright and have it not work.

    Hi guys...

I just recently bought this exact board, and contrary to popular belief regarding the Jetway brand.. They have done a great job with this board...

I am running the JNC62K with the X2 4850e.. Have not had one problem.

It runs flash based frontends no problems.. I am running FreeICE and iGo8 and CPU usage doesn't go above 20%.

I would highly recommend this board, and linitx.com seamed to be the best priced place to buy it from.
