Thread: Anybody put a car PC into a C230, C300, A3 or 328?

I am gathering parts for a install into my C36 AMG..... I let you know how it goes. It will at least cost me a Burlwood center trim piece. Price $347 at the dealer, cant find it anywhere else. I also have no idea where to track down extra burlwood to make a bezel.... Only time will tell

Your '05 RS is coming to the end of its "useful life"?? How many miles do you have on it? My '05 has 80K and runs like the day it was new. My brother only recently sold his '94 Impreza with 215k on the clock because he found a good deal on a '95 Legacy wagon w/ only 116k. That Impreza is now a rally car. These cars are long-lasting - just curious why yours isn't.

Funny though, the 2-din opening and easy modularity of the Impreza cockpit is one of the reasons I bought mine too.

Warranty's running out (73k kms, only 27k/1Y left), and I've (I kid you not) had 3 transmissions swapped, both front and rear diffs, and the whole exhaust to boot over the 4 years I've owned it. Honestly, I do not do anything excessive, aside from manually "shifting" (it's an auto), but according to all the research I've done, that's not necessarily a "bad" thing. So.... I fear running out of warranty time. Well... that, and I want more horsepower, and the significant other wants a more upmarket vehicle. Sigh.

Totally love(d) the car aside from that! Was one of the more fun projects I've worked on (I just re-visited my "install" thread, and I can't believe how much time I spent on the bloody thing).

I have a 1998 Mercedes C230 and I am trying to put a Carputer in it. I going to do it in the spring. Right now gathering all the parts and the plans. I will be using a touch screen LCD and a Acer Aspire One Netbook (Windows XP) to power it up. The problem is I need to modify the center console. I need someones help to remove it and help me fiber glass a custom one. I also need help with the software part. I dont know which software to use. If some one can help me that would be great
