Hi, I know this is my first post (don't flame me for not introducing myself, please), but I've got a couple of questions and what will be the start of an on going project with my laptop and Bronco.

The Skinny: I've got a '91 Bronco that's been out of commission for several months due to lack of funds and a blown transmission. During this down time, a used gateway laptop was gifted to me from a neighbor who upgraded.

The Goal: To use my laptop in my bronco and still be able to use it regularly out & about.

So here I am thinking of different ways to accomplish things. Right now, everything's basic and in need of upgrades. I've been shopping around, and I think I've settled on a 320gb HD from NewEgg, along with 2gb of ram (pair of 1gb sticks)

The sound system in the bronco is in need of repare, it's an older panasonic head unit, and the speakers are newer OEM units that I pulled out of another bronco when I had the opportunity.

I intend on fabricating my own computer mounting setup. I do a lot of work with metal, so I'm not entirely worried about that. What I am worried about on the other hand are the vibrations that this thing will go through and what can be done about it. Ideas are welcome, folks.

Next thing I'm curious about is audio integration. Since this model has headphone, mic, and speakers in front of the unit, I was thinking about using an USB-RCA for audio integration. If you think that using a 3.5mm connection would be the better choice, let me know.

I'm also curious about wifi. I have an internal wifi card, it works pretty well. But not as well some separate USB wifi adapters I've seen. I've thought about this to connect wireless while driving where ever I may be going to.

I've been out of the car audio world for a while, so I'm not as up to date as I used to be. Keep in mind, like most everything done, this is on a budget. I figure the HD & ram upgrades will total about $200. I've got pretty good connections with all kinds of people (totally legit) so getting a newer head unit with USB or 3.5mm accessory inputs won't run me over $80-90. The only really expensive part of this is going to be the wireless connection.

So, if you think that I have flaws in my plan, don't be afraid to show me a better way of doing it, I'm open to all kinds of ideas (I've seen a lot of the "build" threads here, amazing ****)! By all means share input where ever the opportunity presents itself!
