heres the link to the thread sleepy posted in the display area with a video:
    FingerVU usb monitor

if you watch the video, there are some pretty large spikes in cpu usage when all screens are being used, and programs are opened/closed.

though, i don't remember seing any statements about the hardware in the laptop they are using, so 6 screens might only work that good on a quad core, with 8gigs of ram, and a nlited os...

My setup is pretty much set though. I have already modded the car for my current one. Also because I want to use Windows 7 32bit, the limit of RAM is 4GB. Can these things do web browsing? What if all six want to browse the web. To the looks of it, these things are like terminals that use a software emulation to have a desktop and what not.

from what i have (briefly) read on their website, and the review that i posted in the other thread, they normally act like a second screen until, using the small screen, you doubleclick on a icon that starts up the gui that they show-- and then you interface with the gui.

the biggest problem i have with them is that they still output sound through the computer they are connected to(as far as i can tell, there is no way to define where it outputs the sound to), so you would be stuck listening to whatever your passengers are listening to. it also seems that there is no way to get dual zone with the same source with these.

also, i think that the gui needs a little work-- it covers getting all the icons on the screen, but i see it almost as a mashed up iphone screen-- there is just way to many icons per page to be managable imo...

This was the reason I did seperates, the audio. I want dual zone shared, then I guess you can say personal mode. Cant see that happening with these screens. It may work for other people. I agree with the GUI. It looks like something from a restuarnt POS system from back in the 90's.

That doesnt sound very tasty, unless the person spoon feeding is hot as h3ll, naked with only wearing a small apron. If thats the case though, I can find someone to do it for free!

I ordered one of the rear motherboards, so sometime next week, I am going to play with it. Get everything I want installed then make an image.

zx"Your welcome..... I have never heard of eUSB SSD. What I decided to do is just use standard 2.5 HDD. The reason I did this is because they are so cheap. A 20GB sata drive ran me $11.95. All I plan to do is setup one machine, then make a copy of the HDD (an image) save it on CD and on my media drive and if anything goes wrong, I have the image on hand. I honestly don't care for SSD on these computers because they weren't meant for blazing speed. They are meant simply for basics.

Now my main PC, which is built for speed will get 2 SSD in Raid 0. That should give it blazing speed. I also plan to use Win 7 for hybrid sleep. On the six other PC units, they will get XP with EWF and HORM."

i choose eusb not 4 speed but 4 power consumption and we have bad roads in dc i think they will mess up the hdd. eusb ssd that im looking at just gose on one of the usb pins on the mobo. its small and all i need it for is the os n a few programs 2 gogs will be more than enough. all my games will be on standard harddrives cause i got alot of games and do not plan to spend 1k on 500gb wen i can get it for. 80$

You'd be surprised but 2.5 HDD are built pretty strong. I have never had one crash because of bumps and what not. The only thing I think people buy SSD for is speed and cold weather start ups. Other then that i see no reason for them. Also 2.5 dont use up that much power to be an issue. Maybe 5V and 1.2 amps?

Well I have to go with a 1TB drive. Ive decided to put all my movies and DVDs in my car pc. Before I was just going to stream all of it via sling box, but I really only want to use Sling Box for live TV. Its a b!+ch to rewind and change files because there is a 5 second lag per button press with the controls. I have about 30 regular movies and about 300 porn movies, cr@p loads of SYFY shows (StarGate Atlantis, The new BSG, StarTrek Voyager, all Star Trek movies), lots of roms, infact all the catridge based systems.

I would go 100% HDD, but I really want the raid 0 speed from SSD. If I get a decent SSD drive(s), then I can get a read speed of 580MB and write of 350MB, those are awesome speeds.

im thinking of going with 2 raid 0 ssd 16gb or 32gb and a 1tb wd green hdd also.

i have the 1tb already and it uses =< .5 amps and thats only spinning up for about 3-5 seconds after it "sleeps" (which is apparently every 3 min cause its a "green drive").

but i did find that being a sata drive it delayed the post 5-7 seconds. so im wondering if making it a usb (i know usb is slow) would make the OS deal with it and not the POST...

edit* 1tb is a metric **** ton of movies and music and data !!!
