but i did find that being a sata drive it delayed the post 5-7 seconds. so im wondering if making it a usb (i know usb is slow) would make the OS deal with it and not the POST...

edit* 1tb is a metric **** ton of movies and music and data !!!
Well I think it depends on the MoBo. I have never heard that complaint on Zotac boards. What I am worried about is that the Raid 0 is software based, which sometimes can take a bit to be intilized.

Today I started to rethink my install and it has one short coming. If the main PC is not on, then I cant turn on the rear systems. I am thinking of making a switch that will allow those to come on. Thats actually easy. Thing is they also have to be able to get media from the main drive, so I think I am going to go with a Network Media Drive and use it via ethernet. I am also going to maybe invest in a router that allows me to connect aircards to it so then the main system doesnt have to be on to get internet. God to much to do and not enough time or money.

I'll save you some money on that thought.....grab a router with a usb port (dozens of very cheap linksys routers have em)...then you can throw a drive on your router and anytime the network is up, any powered on PC has access. You could even throw dd-wrt on there and use a hub full of usb drives (kev may need to help with the scripting there but its do-able)
