So the way it will work is the alarm brain will go to a relay which goes to the computer and it'll get turned on. Then when I put the key in and turn it to the on position it'll remain on with no issues. I can also just start the truck with the key and it should come on. Correct?

I think it's cool that hitting AUX will keep it running when getting gas but I think I'm still going to make a hidden 3-way maintained rocker to include Valet mode where the PC won't turn on at all but I'll worry about that later.

i think you got it. valet mode would be nice, i planned on using another aux button to make that work for mine- i just havent done it yet. not that ill ever need a valet, but there has been times where id rather not have the pc come on at all (troubleshooting and problems mostly)

Thanks for your help. I'll draw out a schematic one of these days before I actually go ahead and install everything just to make sure.

+Rep. I guess it wasn't enough to get rid of your red square though. I tried.

Well I decided to order from Travis at KCAutosound. He has great CS from on the f150 forum and if you have a Ford vehicle he'll prewire everything for you for only $25 and provide detailed instructions. Takes the hassle out of installation. He also volunteered to progam an AUX for me to make it easier to have it start my carPC.

He has a bunch of different makes including Code, Compustar, Viper, etc but he said Code has been giving people problems lately and he doesn't sell as many Vipers because he doesn't actually stock them and therefore doesn't have as much knowledge on them. There are all sorts of benefits he explained that put it above the Viper that I won't go into. You can email him if you like or send me a PM.

I went with this model over the next one up because 1500 feet is more than enough. The only difference was the next model up was 3000. He's selling it for $255 USD.

Considering the CS and taking the hassle out for me I think it's a great price. I can't get it locally for that price, or anywhere near it.
