    Pc power button questions

Hello, I would like to run around a 12 foot power button cable... will this carry enough current to turn the PC on? i don't want the computer starting off ignition for when i am just moving the computer short distances i rather have a power button in the front of the car from the trunk...

any suggestions... also where i can pick up such a cable? as online all i have found is 12 inch extensions.

    email is [email protected]

You can use just about any wire.

I used Cat5 to extend power & reset buttons and LEDs to the front of my truck. Works like a charm, although it's less than half the length of your run.

You can get the jumper leads at any electronics store.
Or try Mouser, Digikey or Jameco. They all have what you want.
Another option is to take the entire power button assembly, with the lead and cut the wire. Splice in your own length of wire with solder & heatshrink.
    Away you go!

On a Cat5 cable, you should be good with your 12feet strech.
Ultra low voltage have about 5 meters of reach before it looses power.

12 feet is about 3.5 meters.
