    lolo. RoR !!!
    love the marketing!
    Grails out performs the competition.
Now, the question is: Who is the competition ? RoR ...

    OK, kidding aside.
I've been wanting a real reason to get on agile platform and couldn't motivate myself to learn ruby ... Looks like I'm gonna learn Java instead! hahaha, life is interesting to say the least.

Grails even has a plugin for alfresco.

I'm like totally java dumb, but if I have this understood right; we can have the data going through the server and still be able to build a application to access the same data?

    Java's easy and groovy's easier!

I'm not sure I understand the question. Can you give an example of what you mean by data?

    Thanks!
Got groovy going, working on grails now.

    @data
I am just basically wondering if we can build a web + app interface using the same background code.

    right, I get you.

So it's an MVP (Model View Presenter) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) app.

The "data" as you're calling it is the domain model. The domain is spread across all the layers so the answer to your question is yes

    ok, I've done it!

ignore the size of the files as they can all be tweaked. Here's a link to the war file.

All you have to do is download jetty from here, unzip it, find the webapps directory and drop velocity2.war in there.

double click start.jar in the jetty directory, or start it from the command line by typing:

    java -jar start.jar

    go to http://localhost:8080/velocity2

There you have it, Grails + DWR = Web Front end

PS Total time to create this: 1hr

1hr sprints are nice. That will make a really high resolution burndown chart.

Source is here, you'll need to download the latest Grails to run it, you should also get SpringSource IDE as it has good Grails support.

except ... the source isn't showing up in googlecode ...
This happened to me with the older code too, do I have to login or something?

do you know how to use SVN? You need to check out the project using this command:

    svn checkout http://velocity2.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ velocity2-read-only
