Hey there,
I'm pretty new to this forum, in fact this is one of my first posts. Anyway, the purpose of this post is to show you guys a front end I'm developing. It's going to be a fully open source front end. And although I'm running it on a dual core windows system, I'm hoping to make it [semi?]-compatible with lower powered (even linux powered) machines. Essentially, anything that can run a web server.
Right now, the only requirements are PHP, Flash and javascript (makes use of jquery).
It's a little early to show you, but i'm excited over the project, and would love to hear input and suggestions now rather than after i'm done coding it.
All i have coded right now is the main screen, the obd2 reading (Although the code is not yet implemented) and some of the music player.
Here's some shots. (I know i should have taken direct screenshots, but it's been a long day and a camerphone seemed quicker).
I'm hoping to have a bar run across the bottom which will have all the play options and a main menu button. On the first boot, it has a fade in period of about 1-2 secs, and between each page change, it has a fade in speed of 200ms.
Suggestions, comments and criticism is appreciated.

Two suggestions before I even look at the thread
1) Resize the screenshots before you post them
2) go with a clearer name like webfe or phpfe
openMobile - An open source C# Front End (why choose openMobile?)
- Always Recruiting Developers -
Like what you see? Donations are always welcome
OpenFront?
I bet it uses flash.
And it'll run on a dirty Mac.
:getscoat:
On the web flash does do good work with gauges.
Still not a fan of flash though.
lolo, openfront -- openmobile
OpenFront does sound better than Open Front End ... OFE
webFE is not sexy!
phpfe ... sounds like PHP/FI![]()
Hey Nabz,
I think that maybe you missed something in regards to the name.
just_chat has a front end called "open mobile".
Dude, I think the name comment was more of jest than picking on your choice of names.
But anyways ...![]()
