What is the best method of playing MP3's from a computer through the sound system in the car?
I am also lead to believe that is doesnt really matter on the type of sound card you have (e.g. a sound blaster 16 or a pro would do the trick), as long as it has a line out.
Also, what is the best way to keep out interference?
Help on any of these points would be great.

1. Straight into the headunit, or direct to amp, stay away from FM modulators
2. That would depend on whether or not the sound card "colors" the sound. Some people can tell the difference between cards, some can't.
3. Make sure your have everything grounded properly, and in the right place.

Would a Sound Blaster MP3+ work connect sound to the car speakers?
No you cannot connect the speakers directly to the output of your sound card. They will sound like ****. You need to amplify the signal output of your computer to match MORE OR LESS the watts rms that your speakers are rated for.
the sounblaster live outputs 2v RMS.
Most cd players on the market output 4v RMS. So with the live the sound will be low. What i did was buy a line driver. A line driver can boost the signal up to 8v RMS, so you get a loud clean signal.
The one i bought was the Phoenix Gold PlD1
