Were going to be spending the afternoon with Ford's CTO this Thursday. He is going to answer some of our questions on camera about the future of electronics and technology in cars. We're going to try go get a few questions in from the mp3car and auto app mart community. Do you have any specific questions you would like answered?

1. Ask him if he forsees driver distraction technology such as auto-braking or lane swerve detection becoming standard on cars with tech gear in them and whether that moves the industry closer to some sort of autopilot one day or if it simply functions strictly as safety gear.
2. Is Ford interested in collecting data from consumers on their automotive performance and driving habits and do they see this as a possible line of business tied to warranty, maintenance and customer loyalty? (e.g. MyFordMaintenance with emergency location service, maintenance logging, driver performance evaluation such as older or younger drivers, etc.)
I hope not for both 1 and 2.
Ask him if Ford will open/publish it's can bus protocol in the future, for non essential functions like windows, a/c, radio and nav. So that one could develop apps or circuits to control bypass that...(fat chance, but).
Ask him if he can get me an improved EGR cooler for my 6.0L diesel.
Or
Does he see more legislation coming to control driver distraction and if so;to what degree? IE: Could they take it as far as banning cell phone use in vehicles?

Could you ask if they will be installing the tracking unit in all ford vehicles that they are installing now in the truck line. And will it work with ford "crew chief" mapping platform, or like the focus twitter project or something similar?
as a mobile app developer i wonder if Ford will eventually allow developers to create and share apps for the mytouch platform in a similar manner apple/android apps exist today.
