Little OT, but what a project.

    A 60V DC mini VAN .

Don't you just love the windows powered TFT dash?
Not a street racer by any means, but just goes to show what an old guy with a Van and a trashed motor can do.

    I love people like this.

Anyone in North Yorkshire UK seen this running arround?

I have thought about addign batteries under the bed of my truck and mounting a electric motor on top of the rear axel to make a hybrid.

That Van would be great for pottering round a small Village.
The pickup looks more like it would make an ideal daily driver for a small business (landscaper/construction etc in a city).

Anybody got any links to Electric race cars?

Something to add. The electric S-10 site has been around a few years so with imporvemnts in battery technology I bet he could get more range. I want to do a second gen S-10, the newer body style is lighter so you would get even beter range and with the smaller lighter 2.2L engine I think a hybrid would be possible. If I had the money I would try it. The exhaust would heave to be rerouted outside the frame to make room for the batteries and have the 2.2L engine still. The electric range may only be like 50 miles, but you could drive 50 miles on electric, start the engine for 25 to charge and drive another 50 miles on electric. I also want to see a Jeep converted. Buy one of the replacement fiberglass bodies and stick two motors in, one on each axel and make an electric 4x4 SUV.
