I know there are only a handful of people using one of these ScanDo 800 converters or "RGB converter" but hopefully someone just familiar with VGA can help me out here!
I bought a ScanDo 800 without the video input cord which happens to have a unique pinout configuration so I cannot just feed it with a standard HD-15 VGA connector. I have the manual printed and I have scanned the relevant pages for reference below. It appears that I need to take the VGA from the computer (HD-15) and wire the this to the wider (DB-15) input on the ScanDo. From the manual I tried to match the pinouts the best I could (see diagram). I have my harness/adapter all soldered up according to my diagram but no luck getting the computer to display through the ScanDo. The Scando appears to be working because I can run a test on the video and it display properly on the TV, I just don't have a usable video signal from the computer
Anyone familiar with the ScanDo that might be able to help me out? Or anyone familiar with VGA might be able to help me out too.
(P.S. most people don't use the tern HD-15 they just call the standard VGA a DB-15 but technically the DB-15 is the older/wider 15 pin connector)
Dont really understand what youre asking for. You plug in your vga cable from your video card to the scando's VGA in, which should look like the vga plug on the video card. Then you use the scando's RGB output to wire to your OEM screen. Scan do only supports a few resolutions.
No you don't. If you look at the pin descriptions for the VGA input on the ScanDo it does not follow the standard VGA pin arrangement & the input is the wide DB-15 connector, not the narrow HD-15 connector. Are you familiar with this or are just talking?Originally Posted by modme

Sorry I was rude, however this was the first thing I tried to do that’s why I responded like that! According to the manual the input in through the DB15 I didn’t see anything about it switching automatically. Humm I guess this means it has something to do with my video output from my computer. I have my computer set to 800 x 600 too and the input light just flashing, which according to the manual means improper video signal. Did you have to do anything special with the drivers or setting on your video card?Don't be a dick to the only person that's willing to help you. Thanks Modme I figured it out although I'm not sure why it didnt work the first time I tried it at 800 x 600, but I lowered the rez even more and then hooked it up and it started working. I then switched back to 800x600 and it switched over fine. So thank you!

Hey modme. I'm trying to figure out if my ScanDo might be bad , the picture doesn't look that great. I initially had it connected to my 32" flat panel TV through the S cable, so I chalked it up to the large TV and low resolution. However I tried it on my car tapped into the RGB lines and the picture is still pretty bad. Its not the images so much as the text is pretty much unreadable, while on the large 32 I could read it but it wasent very good either.
Do you have any pictures of your setup I could look over maybe, I'm thinking my Scan Do might be bad or my video card/setting dont mesh well with the Scan Do. Any ideas?
