Thread: Good name for Car-PC system?

With so little information, I could really only call it a "Mystery". LOL

Auto Motion

Yeah we actually thought of that, and it's a good suggestion. Problem is that it's probably not unique enough.

What more do you want to know?

The main thing I would be looking for in choosing a name would be to figure out what makes this system so different than all of the others on the market.
All we really know at the moment is that it does everything that any other decent car pc system does. Is your system just hardware or is it a hardware/software package? Is it an ARM processor, an X86, a Tegra cpu or what? What OS will it run? What about it is unique in the market?

The name Auto Motion does not make me think of a car pc. I tend to think of the industry in which a company actually uses that name. That industry is automation and motion control systems. For THAT it seems to fit.

The system will only be software, like Centrafuse and will in many ways work much like it. It will run on Windows x86 (maybe x64 also), ARM is a possibility.

The reason we are making a new system, is simply because Centrafuse, which probably is the most popular, is very poorly written and in general bad designed when in comes to design layout use of available space, static images as UI, WinForms instaed of WPF and the plugin system is not that well designed!

I could go on.. so we simply wanted to do a better job, which we are!

Ok, that clarifies things a bit. Maybe you should just start calling it a "Front End" instead of a "System". The phrase "Car-PC System" generally refers to the hardware end, not software.
How do you intend to change the use of available space? With the average screen size being 7", that's not a lot of screen real estate. But since this is a thread concerning the potential NAME of an unkown front end, I will leave that avenue of discussion until I can see something tangible.

If it were me, I would go with something like..... The Intelligent Car for US or "Icarus" for short. In mythology, Icarus wanted to fly higher, so do you. Just be wary of the moral to that little story.
