XM Radio PCR
Two questions ...
1) Can the PC XM radio pick up my local radio channels?
2) How is the reception of the PC XM radio in the car?
I had to remove my radio to install the car-puter. I would like to be able to listen to my local channels as well as XMs stuff, as well as my MP3s ... no point in loosing ANY music chances :) I called XM to ask them, and they didn't know (question 1). They actually told me to go to Best Buy and ask them! So I thought I'd ask you guys :)
Thanks for your help!
I can answer the first question...No.:D
you could get a USB radios D-link ebay
I have one of those D-link USB radios. I got it working with XP using that Radiator program (I used the search button to learn that :)), but I am unhappy with the reception. Of course, I am doing all my testing in the warehouse, so I suppose the reception would be better outside.
Oh well. I really wanted that XM radio, but not if it won't pick up local channels :(
Does the D-Link USB work under Linux? I am not in the mood for WinXP for my system, and for the time (Until I get another pay check..) I am going to be using a P2 system that perfers Linux anyways, and when I switch systems, I just have to put the hdd in to the new system along with the Flashmedia card, and re-compile the kernel, and I am good to go! :)
how do you get XM radio into your computer? is it a pci card? usb? and could you give me a link also?
USe the search Button
it's been disscussed here
I am currently in the market for a USB FM card with TV reception and a seperate USB XM tuner. I've seen them on Ebay, so they are available.
I've just got myself a D-Link USB FM device off ebay, and I have a Hauppauge and also a Pinnacle PCI TV card at home, so may use one or other of those for TV :)
Those, along with my GPS mouse, will fill up half the USB ports, and the PCI slot on my Epia M10000 being delivered soon :)
