Ditto on the PCMCA reader, I've searched on and off for a year and not come up with anything except a usb PCMCIA programmer which cost an arm and a leg
I bought a usb2 802.11g adapter the other day and it has a PCMCIA card in it so I presume that a generic one is possible?

I dont suppose some fellow uk'ers would help me out would you??
How to power a lcd?
can you not use standby/hibernate??
id recommend you look into XP/2000 LITE.
i dont think cf cards would boot faster, although come to think of it i have no reason to think that![]()
the RF remote. i got it workin fine with girder yea.
thing is there is an issue with that remote and the EPIA-M boards is seems that each button is pressed twice unless the remote is right next to the reciever. im gonna try a powered hub and see if that fixes it.
my touchscreen is broken![]()

I assume you want the RF transimtter to send audio to your headunit on FM from your PC? I just got a LineX wireless transmitter i bought on Ebay in the post today, havent tried it yet but will post results if you like, it cost £15 plus s/hOriginally Posted by Tarquin

Hmm, this looks good, esp. the USB possibility.... Let us know how you get on. I guess that the batteries could be replaced by a 5V line from the Sproggy...???

State of play: Buying all the parts needed, still saving up for an Opus PSU. Mounted screen, and built the carputer itself. Looking into ways to hook up the sound since my head unit has no aux input.
Comments: If you going to use Map Point make sure you grab AGPS from : http://www.techgt.com/agps/ and don't expect to get a widescreen res from the NV25 motherboard's onboard s3 twister VGA.
Hello all, I'm from east herts, and new here... currently working on my project kind of getting parts together at the mo, been thinking about it all for the last few months and didn't realise there were so many of these carputer things about!!!

Car is a Carlton GSi3000, still undecided on all the bits i'm going to use, apart from the 7" liliput screen which seems kind of popular for this sort of thing.
A meet would definatly be good to see some other peoples projects!
See ya!
