Hi. I'm new. I hope I'm not asking a completely over-asked question. (For the record, I did search the archives).

Here's what I want in an in-dash MP3 player:

Your standard AM/FM CD player with MP3 Software and a powered, firewire input.

That's it. It seems like a simple idea, after all, isn't Firewire supposed to be the networking cable of the future? I'm just about to purchase a powered firewire HD so that I can easily take my MP3's with me where ever I go (home, work, plane, what have you). BUT, I still can't use them in my car, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Wouldn't adding some software and a firewire port to an existing CD player be a relatively easy and inexpensive option for some of these companies?

It's seems to make perfect sense to me, but what do I know?

Just curious...
