question about sound hookup in cars

what are you guys using to kook up the pc into cars for sound. I have a via800 board, but if i use the audio out, i will only get 1 set of stereo outputs which i have to connect to an amp or aux input deck. Is there anyway to just the pc as your main headunit? with sub control, fader, balance control? Also what are my options for getting FM radio into the pc? thanks!

1. No, you need something to amplify the sound.
2. There are a handful of FM tuners available. Look around and you will find.

Creative and M-audio both have pretty good usb sound cards which you can configure anyway you like. Just plug the audio outs into an amp and you've effectively eliminated the need for a head unit.

If you go Creative, avoid the Audigy 2 NX (USB). Get the extigy, or the USB Live! (if you go creative)

I'm relatively new to this forum and I was wondering what the problem was with the Audigy 2 NX? Is there a 2.0 USB Sound card out there? I'm looking to replace my head unit with the carputer and I want the best possible sound card I can get. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

I would avoid the Audigy 2 NX because I've heard bad things. A friend of mine who works in audio software said he tested it and it sucked. A few people here have had problems, but it seems to be working out for most people. But why not just save money and buy a USB Live or an Extigy?

And I don't know of any USB 2 soundcards.
