Hyundai Sonata 2004 has a double din space. Took out the factory system and installed a single din head unit so I now have room for a single din pull out screen!
My 2001 Xterra had a double din radio/cd changed. Below it was a single din sized space with an ashtray and cigarette lighter. Replaced ashtray and lighter with a single din radio, and existing double-din space was used for screen / computer.

My 1997 Mitsubishi Carisma has a double-din opening. It had a single-din stereo and a single-din "cubby hole" which I have taken out and replaced with a 7" touchscreen

the 4th generation maximas (95-99) have 3 dins! radio was double din, then the cubby is another DIN.

Basically most/all Toyotas cars (since 80) have double din openning.
There are some combination for that double din
Single Din Radio + Single Din EQ
Single Din Radio + Storage pocket for Tape, CD, or other junk
Double Din Radio.
And they all have mounting bracket so ISO standard aftermarket radio fix nicely with that bracket.
