I have been trying to find an FM solution. The Leadtek 2000XP PCI card that I've had for a while is crap. It gets FM, but the reception is crap. It's good at vid capture, but the TV tuner wont output sound anymore. So I need a new card. My main concern is FM reception. I almost don't even care about TV tuner or video capture (probably would never use either), but it seems that you can't just get an FM tuner for you computer.
Then I came across the RS200. Looks great. An FM/DAB tuner that can be controlled by an external processor.
Is it available in any products yet? Looks like it's ready for market, but not out there yet.

Let me know how the reception is.
The deal with the RS200 that I posted about is that it's a completely standalone FM/DAB reciever that is configurable thru RS232 or I2C. This can run run without the computer being booted up. It can have a small keypad to control it, and/or the computer can control/configure it. You can pretty much have full control over how it operates and what it displays on the screen.
That RS200 looks like it could be promising...You should see if you could get a sample or 2 to try it out. They may just go for it...Originally Posted by eCarô
Somehow I don't think they are going to give a Joe Scmho like me a free sample.
Depends, say you are doing it for a school project. A lot of people were doing that before and getting good results.Originally Posted by eCarô
They say it is affordable, and if they are selling it as a way to get people to integrate it into their ideas, then they may just send a sample for free.
Request for a sample and say that, depending on the performance, you might set up a group buy for mp3car.com.
Then, if it is good, I'm sure you really could set up a pretty successful group buy as I'm sure a lot of people would be interested.

I think I'll try that.Originally Posted by Bobby Digital
