    Any partial/completed '00-'04 Cavalier installs?

Wanting to add PC to my '04 Cavalier. The interior is kinda tight so looking to see what others have done to get an idea. Suggestions/stories/avoidences please.

Yea, I got a partial install going on monitor just got installed its just a flipout 5 incher for now, plan to get a better one later on. Waiting on parts right now. Your going to run into alot of problems. I have a 00 cavalier wish it was a 2.4 '99 with some better options instead of a base model 2.2 '00 anyhows. Problems I ran into so far (except no money) are:

    Problem:
    No ACC wire for stereo
    Solution:
    1) Use a mini fuse tap to get ACC from windshield wiper
    2) get into the ignition coil and find which is the ACC line

    Problem:
Space for stereo is very small, and the wires at the back of the unit still wouldn't fit because of the heatercore(?) or something like that.
    Solution:
Had to cut away plastic for unit to fit in and then take the guts of the monitor out and rig it to stay on the installation kit

Depending on what sound package you have you will probably run into some problems, you might end up paying $70 for a chimer if you can't live with out them.

There are some nice spaces where you can mount your PC if you look, not sure if yours will be the same but I have space in the trunk behind the carpet, if you have 2dr you have a nice space under the plastic where the pasenger sits there is a styre foam block in there, am not sure of size but plan to take it out someday and measure. When you take your door panels off, you probably want to do everything your going to do all at once because it is a pain.

Will add more stuff as I remember it. Can't wait to finish the install tho

Will have some when I get around to it. None of the install as of yet, but I still need to take the dash of again to put some wiring in for switches and sensors

i have $100 that says you wont find crap at that site, and further more, you will be so ****ed off at the incredible bickering, name calling, flaming, and general ***-hattedness of the forum that you will wonder why you ever ventured in there looking for anything resembling a coherent thought.

or at least that is my take on j-body... and yes, i am....er, was a member there.
