good ideas, but i only want to turn on the pc when i go on long distance trips.. so this is what i want. I want the computer to turn on automatically ONLY when the inverter is turned on by me. Then I want the inverter and computer to turn off automatically when the key is out of the ignition.

this is what I want to do. please tell me if theres anything wrong with it or IF you have any suggestions. I have the auto-off module, but I dont really want to use it unless you can disable the power on function. I dont want the pc to turn on unless I am going on a long distance trip.

can u simply chnage a setting in your bios to boot when power is applied, I believe that some atx boards have this option.

This is gonna be kinda long (so get up and go to the bathroom in advance!!)

ok, i guess, i should point this out... your diagram has everything coming off that acc. wire. Is that the same wire that is meant to be the remote on and off for your CD player (you know how cars have 12v constant, 12v switched and ground). ok well, if this is the same one that is going to the CD player, then don't use it to power everything else in the car. u will damage the circuit (past a certain point u will different vehicles have different capabilities)

1.) run the tuner and the CD on the same ACC line.
2.) run the invert on a separate line. (use a relay to turn it on and off via acc line)
    very simple wire job
3.) depending on the LCD either (a) run it off of the psu for the computer, (b) or the line with the CD (c) or the one from the relay .
4.) if in the future however u decide to add amps or something else, run them off the relay and not the acc line for the CD (seeing as it already has the tuner and possibly the LCD)

now, i know some of you are thinking u have everything but the kitchen sink attached to that one wire (as i said all vehicles are different (and many American cars have more powerful electric systems than foreign) anyway, some of u may need a relay some of u may not... cost of relay $3 cost to repair the acc power in your car once u overload it more than i care to think about... an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

ya i was going to wire everything to the ACC line of the cd player. I guess that would probably be too much power consumption on thast single line. i guess i can get this relay from radio shack?

what kind of LCD do u have...but, any how yeah u can run the 2 of them on that line (i am working on the assumption u have an LCD built for in car use with a 3 or 4 wire hook up)... If you have an LCD that was designed for general purposes i.e.- the $200 partsex 5" where u only 2 wires u can get power from that from your computer power supply
