    Post Visual options

What are my visual options for an mp3car? I want to have an lcd vga monitor that fits in the front of my car so i can actually see my computer screen. I also want to stick a geforce2 in the computer. Im getting a 2002 escalade and want to have it displaying sonique plug-ins (specifically smear) while im driving listening to mp3s. I want the monitor to be maybe 7" and i also want to tie my navigation and if possible cd controls into it. Has anybody ever seen a 7" vga flat screen that would be ideal for mounting in a car? Thanks in advance,
    andrew

Congrats on the new SUV. I haven't seen 7" LCD's. But there are tons of 6.4" units out there. For your video needs. I'd reccomend a GeForce2 MX as they don't get that hot and don't even need a heatsink. They don't have the same specs as their big brothers, but they ain't bad: I am piecing my system together right now: Soyo SY-7VCM Micro ATX P3 Mobo with built in sound. I'm going to throw in a PCI GeForce2 MX, a 3com wireless PCI 10mb NIC (both on right angle adapters to keep the height around 2 inches) and a P3 650 with 128mb RAM. I intend to use either a 10.4 or a 9.6 inch LCD(don't have yet), 8xDVD and a CD-RW. I will be using a laptop hard drive to avoid the common bump induced failures. I am running the system on AC right now and am able to play Quake3 at 800x600 at 105fps with the system overclocked to 910 (140fsb). I can run at 110fsb with only a small heatsink and fan. so this system will run very cool.

This will be going into my center console on my new 2001 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab 4x4.
I am using the Pioneer 6200 indash CD with the IP bus to RCA adapter for AUX inputs.
A carputer?!? What in the hell is that?

    scoobydoo22,

I bought the same screen a few months back to use in my setup. Unfortunately, I don't have any room for it. If you are interested you can have mine for $350 including shipping. Here is a link to the guys auction.

I believe the geforce has a built in digital lcd controller. Is this correct?
