can i mount my carputer sideways/perpindicular?

My travla C134 actually fits behind my dash (much like how the brain of my Alpine DVD did) but i'm not sure if there are any drawbacks to mounting it perpendicular as opposed to parallel with the car. The only thing i can think of is heat, but i figure it should be minimal. Any drawbacks?

I've been running my Epia M9000 in a Casetronics 2699 mounted vertically for about a year now. No problems. If you can do it, make sure some of the exhaust holes in the case are on the top, whichever way you put it, so that the hot air escapes out of the case. But I don't think that will matter much.
