Not really. If they are made to industrial specs, they are fairly rugged.

Does it start working if you hit it again? Sounds like the solder connections where the cable connects to the board are bad.

Its a basic 12 inch crt I got from a local computer store for $30. No problems with bumps so far. Only on one road going about 60 miles an hour do the bumps affect the picture. The Picture moves around on the screen very fluid like, but the picture is not distorted. It just moves up and down left to right about 1\4 of an inch. It might be the frequency of the bumps at that speed on that road. I simply cut the plastic away from the monitor till it fit as far back in my dash as it would go (the back of the tube hit the dash) It sits on my transmission tunnel right below the dash. I drive a cadilac deville. It has no console.

    Aaron,
One day i will pull the cover off and have a look, hitting it does make it return. Moving the cable does have some effect on it.

Im just too lasy to pull it apart
