    MP3's with no tags

Without having the CD's to rip from is there any way i can quickly fill the name, artist etc tags of my mp3's which dont have em as it's annoying seeing (untitled blah blah) track1 in my list.

Also that makes it a little hard to select the right song as you dont know what the hell it is.

Would love to know this asap as i have almost 7000 tracks that need titles in this way.
    Cheers guys

Use Tag & Rename software, but it'll cost you time anyway for 7000 songs.

For my collection, it took me an INCREDIBLY long time to tag everything, even with software. I recommend MP3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) for Windows platforms, and EasyTAG (http://easytag.sourceforge.net/) for Linux users (FreeBSD users can find the port in /usr/ports/audio/easytag).

Be careful, I had to rename/retag about half my music files after MusicBrainz screwed them up.

You have to approve the changes so it's your fault

But then if I have to go through and double-check every single file to make sure it's got it right, there's no ****ing point in letting it do it automatically, I may as well have just done it manually in the first place (and I wish I had)
