Thread: modified xbox instead of a PC?

Great minds must think alike.
I had the Xbox idea just the other day w/o having read any modding info.

My concern and interest are in using a touchscreen. I want to be able to use the caputer while driving and i can't be messing around with a controller.

I saw it mentioned but I don't think there was a definantive answer?!?!?!?!

WILL THE TOUCHSCREEN work on the Xbox AS a touchscreen?
will the xbox acept the input from the screen?
what hardware mods are need for adapters and such?
is there currently drivers and software that will support it?



the more I think about it, the more I want to use an Xbox.
too bad about doing GPS and wardriving, that was going to be a side hobby.

what about the best of both worlds and use Xboxmediacentre ported to the PC, i downloaded it but havent played with it yet.

i have an xbox and a lilliput 8" touchscreen, come up with a possible solution and i will try it

plug it in and install the latest cvs of xbmc and see if it works.

Softmods are cheaper and easier. I spent 22 dollars and had my box running full blast. Admittedly it doesn't have much space as I didn't upgrade the hard drive, but it gets the job done. I just stream my media from my computer.

On another note, how much does the xbox weigh and is it unnatural for a 13 year old who's 5' 6" to be able to carry it and a seven pound laptop in a backpack pretty well?

Also, I plan on doing a carbox myself. I just need to get the goddamn screen off of my super nintendo, as I have no money for a new one.

okay well a few of us are starting a project with a carolla we are including 4 xboxs anyhow hey everyone
