The Opus is a DC-DC full ATX power supply with integrated startup/shutdown controller.

The ITPS is supposed to be a voltage regulator and startup/shutdown controller.

The Carnetix is exactly the same, however, unlike the ITPS, it actually works with the engine off and when "cranking" (starting the engine)

The Opus is a complete ATX power supply, that has regulation in, plus a startup/shutdown controller.

If you don't have a case with a 60W DC-DC power supply, get the Opus. If you do have a case with the power supply in already, get the Carnetix.

Think about what your time is worth....
Then think how much time it will take to slap together a power supply that may or may not survive a crank.

Then Buy the OPUS 150 and be happy. I don't know anyone who isn't happy with theirs!

    BUY OPUS and save headaches!

Damn, I've got a contender for "oldest car with a computer in it"!

When was your Malibu made in 1967, we might have to count it down to the individual day/month!

Well I have got a whole new dash for the malibu, I love that car, thats my pride and joy. The only audio in it right now though is a NON-FACTORY 8-track player. I was thinking about putting the computer in there but I dont know if that would be the best thing to do, since I dont drive it as much as my truck. I dont know what month it was made but my father and I put a little "computer" in a 1927 model T. I have got pics of all my cars on my website. Check it out:

can i ask where you bought this stuff from? Im looking to build one, and ive read the noob sections, but cant find a thread regarding where to purchase stuff and what i exactly need to have.

Besides what you listed, you would need a case, that opus power supply, and a monitor right? Is there anything im missing?

Also, does that MOBO, have any built in ethernet or anything? Or would i have to buy something for that sepertaerly? I wanna be able to transfer songs from my home comp to the carpc
