connecting radio tuner to car antenna

I am getting ready to put a carputer in my Acura RSX and was wondering if it is possible to connect an fm tuner card to the cars antenna connection?

has anyone found/made something that the original cable can be plugged into to convert it or must it still be done with splicing?

I soldered together a motorola connector to an rca connector with some coax in between.

It's only in my house. I didn't notice any adverse effects. I use it for testing.

Im doin the same thing. All you have to buy is a car antenna extension. Wont need but about 10 ft. You wont lose any reception. I work at Circuit City and we do it all the time. Just make sure that the antenna will fit into the card...

Not all antennas use the same connection. In fact, I tried to replace the antenna on one of my firebirds with a very small amplified antenna and it didn't fit with my connection that's OEM. You probably have a Coax antenna connection on the tuner card, right? You can definately find a converter for that!

All Gm vehicles have a special antenna. There are adapters available. That's why it didn't work on your firebird.
