    DVD Playback Question.

    This is prolly a stupid / simple question... When I tried to play a DVD for the first time just for grins I just get a black screen in FP... When I try in media player I get something like "no decoder available" or "no hardware decoder" or something like that..

    What am I missing?

    Either DVD player software such as PowerDVD, or perhaps codecs. Search for either at a download site

    Didn't your DVD drive come with software? Usually PowerDVD or Windvd, if your lucky your nVidia video card came with NVDVD (supposely the best decoder aval) Install one of them.

    codec my friend - if you don't have the software, there are a few free (yet janky) dvd players on download.com...

    Well what exactly do you mean by yanky? That they will play dvd's like crap or what?

    they'll play dvd's, just not the best player (interface, video/audio options etc.)
