Is it possible that the Pine doesnt support the bitrates used in some of your MP3s? (possible variable bitrate MP3s?) I'm really not that familiar with the Pine player, but just a suggestion.
My first message to the forum. I have a Pine SM 200-C CD/MP3 player, which I use in my car. Generally pretty good, but can anyone suggest why the sound of some of my Mp3's is great (CD quality) and no skipping whilst some of the others is distorted and tracks do skip? - and what I can do about it!?!?!
Many thanks to anyone who maybe able to help.
Thanks for the reply. The pine does support<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by Callahan:

rates upto vbr320. Could it be anything else?
MP3's can be rocorded at different bitrates, and different sources yeild different quality standards.
If the guy that made the mp3 recorded if off a casset deck, even if he recorded it at 200 Kpbs , its going to sound like krapp.
If the guy recorded something live with a 400.00 microphone, onto a DAT. and he turned the volume up to high, it will again, sound like krapp.
I think (in your case) a lot of it has to do with who/how the file was recorded.
