    is 5mb/sec fast enough to run dvd? i love the power via the 50 pin cable though.

    i just re-read the article, and to my knowledge, 5 megabytes a second is fast enough (i think)

    Personally, I wouldn't use the power supply circuit he used, too risky....
    no filters, or capacitors...
    hmmm.

    according to that article, dvd takes appx. 6 megabits/sec? for some reason i thought it was much more...well...anyone looking for a relatively cheap in-dash dvd....there you go (first post).

    anyone want to give it a go? too bad i already got a firewire/ide bridge for my in-dash dvd this looks like it may work well....

    i've been using that same circuit for 2+ years without a single problem
