    Ditto.

    Don't know about your friend, but obviously you are lacking your own experience here. Looks aside (since you know, everyone has a different taste in that respect, some people like SUV's...), Mazda3 is a rather good deal for the money. This is based on my last week of test driving cars with my girlfriend. In the base setup (the "i") it is more powerful than either the civic, the corolla, the focus, the sentra or the golf (that would be my car). It has better fit and finish inside than all but the golf and that is all in the same price ballpark. It also happens to share a platform with the new small Volvo and it happens to be a rather good platform.
    Also, like I said, it has numerous storage compartments and they are all larger than any of the above mentioned cars. Even though I am not the one buying the car, I was still sizing up the whole setup for carputer.
    And did I mention that in base setup, it is faster than any one of the other base cars?
    As far as PERFECT vehicles for carputers go, I recommend something along the lines of Freightliner (or Dodge Ram, same thing). You can have your own server and client network setup in the glove box.

    It may be "perfect" for a carputer, some people have put a carputer in it. BUT from personal experience, the fit and finish is subpar. The plastics look like they were designed by ford, and the carbon fibre stickon on the mazda6 was peeling in the one I sat in.

    I think a 3000gt/stealth would work awesome.Alot of people replace the stock steering wheel with a aftermarket, which means you can remove the computer for the air bag. That leaves you with a very large space in the center console, along with a large space behind the double din to work with. You also have the added benifit of running data logging if you wanna mod the car and that sort of fun stuff.

    "designed by ford..." Actually it is Yet it is light years ahead of what Focus has. And Mazda3 unlike Mazda6 doesn't have carbon fiber fakes of any kind, thankfully. And come on, before dissing the car may be you should consider the overall package versus everything else on the market, and the question to begin with was indeed about the "ultimate car computer vehicle"

    I like that idea, for someone who's interested in having a whoop *** car on top of being full of computer stuff, that will definitely be a better choice than a new compact.

    all the sport subarus are awesome for carputers if you looking for a small vehicle.

    The front bezel opening is perfect for a 7' lilliput. Just mount it right behind the opening and your set.
    mobo $130 ; 150wOpus-$200 ; 256mb pc2700 -$10 ; 120gb HDD 7200-$70 ; Lilliput TS 7"-$265 ; USB LAN-Free AR ; Rikaline 6010 GPS-$34 ; ShuttleXpress-$37
    Total = $746....Carputer = Priceless

    I knew it was designed by ford Anyways, I still stand by my comments in saying that the rear end is ugly and the fit and finish isn't the best, but it is good for the price.

Of course, it's got it's own drilling platform and refinery to power the eight 15" subs and plasma screen in each cabin.

    And the whole ship is driven with an NES Advantage controller.
    LOL @ NES controller, I'd buy that ship in a heartbeat.

    It has been done. In fact, it was actually beautiful.

    i tried searching, but nothing came up... it was done, and it looked nice.
    52-hit-combo?! Is that really necessary?
