Don't know about your friend, but obviously you are lacking your own experience here. Looks aside (since you know, everyone has a different taste in that respect, some people like SUV's...), Mazda3 is a rather good deal for the money. This is based on my last week of test driving cars with my girlfriend. In the base setup (the "i") it is more powerful than either the civic, the corolla, the focus, the sentra or the golf (that would be my car). It has better fit and finish inside than all but the golf and that is all in the same price ballpark. It also happens to share a platform with the new small Volvo and it happens to be a rather good platform.Originally Posted by 0l33l
Also, like I said, it has numerous storage compartments and they are all larger than any of the above mentioned cars. Even though I am not the one buying the car, I was still sizing up the whole setup for carputer.
And did I mention that in base setup, it is faster than any one of the other base cars?
As far as PERFECT vehicles for carputers go, I recommend something along the lines of Freightliner (or Dodge Ram, same thing). You can have your own server and client network setup in the glove box.
