Have you asked the dealership? Sometimes it's worth just calling them, they might be able to correlate the VIN with the HU.
or something.
I just bought a 2000 ex and the battery was dead, so the factory radio needs the security code. (I don't know it) So I have to pull the stereo and find the serial #'s so I can call in and get the code. Expect now I haven't figured oout how to take the stereo out?
any help from someone that has pulled a stereo from this type of car before?
thanks!

I don't have plans re-install my caputer right away...I need to get a screen first. All I have are 10 and 12 inch LCD's and they won't fit there. So I have to go for the 7 inch xenarc TS. But in the mean time whiile I'm driving this car I would like to have some tunes. So yes for now I need the radio and I would need to pull it to get the serial #'s....So back to my original question, does anyone have experience pulling a stock stereo from a 2000 civic ex? If so how...I don't want to mess anything up!

Easiest way is to remove the console. You will have to remove the bezel (cover) that has the cigarette lighter in it. After you get that out you will have to look up from the bottom side. there are two hidden bolts that hold the radio bezel to the frame of the dash. Then there are just clips holding the radio bezel itself to the dash. Be careful as you pull the bezel out that you don't break the little plastic clips.
Will be posting a copy of the page from Haynes manual for you shortly.
