    Who else here rides motorcycles?

If you do what do you own/have you owned? How long have you been riding? etc...

    I'll start:

    first bike: 1996 Suzuki GS500E
current bike: 2001 Ducati 750 Sport and boyfriends 2001 Ducati 750 Monster

been riding about a year and a half, put about 15,000 miles total on all three bikes....always wanted one, but I had to get out from under the parent before I could do it....then I had to get myself settled to be able to afford it....lol

    So what's your story?

I've got my license, but can't afford a bike with my full-time student income.

so are you saying that you aren't very responsible?

    oh

and I DON'T want to see any pictures of anyone acting like a complete moron on their bikes....ie. stoppies, wheelies, etc....I don't give a ***** about how cool you think it is or how cool you THINK it makes you look, you are a moron for doing it and I hope you realize how much you ruin riding for the rest of the responsible world....not to mention I should slap you for making MY insurance go sky high because of your stupid childish antics....

    ok, with that said.....who rides?

    lol

While I understand your rant and agree with its spirit, I feel that I should add that (IMHO) there's nothing wrong with doing those stunts as long as it's under controlled conditions (wearing the proper gear, at a school for it, in a parking lot closed for that purpose, on your own property, at an exhibition, etc).

That said, I've had my motorcycle license for about 5 years now. I've been riding my dad's 1985 Honda V65 Magna (90 degree V4 @ 1100 cc & 118 HP) the whole time, and before that I used to ride dirt bikes recreationally. I've test ridden a few other bikes (2001 Triumph Daytona 955i, 1965(?) HD Panhead) but since I'm not done with school yet, I can't afford to buy my own yet.

I'm really looking at the Suzuki SV650 though.
Old plans out the window because of an accident .

I just know myself and I would just go big. I used to bomb my bycicle down large hills when I was kid. Many painful memories plus for acting like as ars

when i was a kid, i used to bomb on a dirtbike too, until I had an accident where I broke my jaw, both arms and a leg. From then on, I've learned to truly respect anything on less than four wheels.

Don't get me wrong; if I could afford a motorcycle I would, but insurance on a sportbike in NYC is very expensive.
